“Yang” - the “male” potential. It is an expression of that which is considered our more masculine attributes, as exemplified by the ancient pyramid extending up to the more modern building. It has a geometrical, mechanical essence. This is power and solidity – endless possibility.

“Yin” is an extension of “female potential. This is the more creative side in each of us. From this aspect of the unity springs fertility of ideas, spiritual understanding, rebirth of the Phoenix from the flames – and endless possibility.

Thoreau’s Walden Pond still holds his spirit. His passion for nature is reborn in the spring with new budding leaves; in the summer with the buzzing of insects on the flowers and the sparkling water. One can feel his joy in the autumn when trees are splendid in red, orange and gold, and the paths through the wooded banks are warmed by ferns. In the winter Thoreau’s pond is caked in crystal and the trees stand their vigil while the land sleeps.
