Martin Luther King, Jr.

In Ghandi’s footsteps, Martin Luther King, Jr. led America through a horrendously difficult time. We made great strides in the pursuit of civil rights in this nation. With King’s guidance the corruption of racism was unmasked, and Americans of all colors were given a voice. He used the philosophy of Thoreau and the experience of Ghandi to peacefully pursue the right for all men and women to be treated as equals.

I listen to his speeches today, without the influence of the media in the 1960’s, and marvel at their brilliance and truth.
